● PSTAT 172 A & B – Actuarial Statistics I & II
o Applied probabilistic and deterministic contingency mathematics in life and health insurance, annuities
and pensions. Investigated survival distributions and life tables, life insurance, life annuities, net
premiums and reserves. Also gained understanding of multiple life functions, multiple decrement
models, valuation theory for pension plans, insurance models including expenses as well as
nonforfeiture benefits and dividends.
● PSTAT 174- Time Series
o Investigated stationary and nonstationary models and their applications, seasonal time series and
ARMA models including the calculation of ACF, PACF, mean and ACF estimation. Gained experience
in ML method identification techniques, diagnostic checking forecasting, spectral analysis and the
periodogram.
● PSTAT 170 – Math Finance
o Utilized mathematical methods for estimating and evaluating asset pricing models, equilibrium and
derivative pricing, options, bonds and the term-structure of interest rates. Also was introduced to
finance optimization models for risk management and financial engineering.
Notable Projects
● Forecasting Stock Prices
o Utilized R software to extract past stock prices from Yahoo Finance and performed pre-processing to
make the data stationary. Used the past data for future forecasting by using AR and ARIMA models.
● The Electronics Company--Excel
o Sorted company's expenditure data, analyzed the data by using SUMIF, COUNTIF and Pivot Tables,
Presented the data to non-technical people by using tables, graphs and dynamic charts. Lastly, forecasted
future data using GOALSEEK
